Ruiz Food Products beef and cheese tortillas recalled for plastic contamination
Throw out Ruiz Food Products tortillas
Ruiz Food Products recalled approximately 23,544 pounds of frozen beef and cheese tortillas produced on November 18, 2016, because they may contain small pieces of clear plastic. The contamination was discovered after customers reported finding foreign material in the product. No injuries have been reported so far.
- Do not eat these tortillas if you have them at home or at your institution
- Check your freezer for 4.5-lb cases marked with production date 16 323 and product code 86-390
- Throw away the product or return it to where you bought it
- Call Ruiz Foods at (800) 772-6474 with questions about the recall
