Taylor Farms and Amana ready-to-eat meat products recalled for possible Salmonella Newport from contaminated onions
Do not eat Taylor Farms or Amana meat products
Ready-to-eat meat and poultry products from Taylor Farms and Amana Meat Shop, made with onions from Thomson International, may contain Salmonella Newport bacteria. The contaminated onions were used in salads, breakfast bowls, and pickled ham products sold in multiple states. No illnesses have been reported so far.
- Check your refrigerator for the affected products listed (Taylor Farms salads, breakfast bowls, and Amana pickled ham with specific lot codes and dates)
- Do not eat these products
- Throw away the products or return them to the store where you bought them
- Call your doctor if you develop fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, or abdominal pain
- Call the USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline at 1-888-674-6854 (Monday–Friday, 10 a.m.–6 p.m. ET) with questions
