Imported veal products recalled for possible E. coli O103 contamination
Do not eat imported veal from Netherlands
Raw veal products imported from the Netherlands and distributed to restaurants and grocery stores in Michigan, California, Florida, and Massachusetts may be contaminated with a harmful strain of E. coli (STEC O103). The contaminated products were produced in March and April 2017. No illnesses have been reported so far.
- Do not eat raw veal products with the case or shipping codes listed in this alert.
- Throw away or return to the store any veal products matching the affected codes and production dates.
- If you ate this veal and develop bloody diarrhea, severe abdominal cramps, or decreased urine output within 28 days, seek medical care immediately.
- Call 1-888-674-6854 (USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline) with questions.
