Yamaha golf cars recalled for brake failure risk

Yamaha golf cars from model years 2017–2024 can fail to brake, which poses a serious risk of injury or death. The affected vehicles are DR2A and DR2E models with serial numbers beginning with J0D, J0E, or J2D. About 4,300 vehicles are involved.

  • Stop using the recalled golf car immediately.
  • Check your vehicle's serial number on the left-side handlebars at the rear row of seats.
  • Contact an authorized Yamaha Golf Car dealer to schedule a free brake repair.
  • If you cannot reach a dealer, Yamaha will provide transportation or send a technician to your location.

The recalled golf car vehicles can fail to brake, posing a risk of serious injury or death, due to a crash hazard.

Remedy
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled golf car vehicles and contact an authorized Yamaha Golf Car dealer to schedule the free installation of new brake shoes and pads. For consumers who cannot take their recalled golf car to an authorized dealer, Yamaha will provide transportation or will install the replacement brake shoes and pads at the location of the golf car.
