Hellas Meze smoked herring recalled for botulism risk
Terra Medi LLC is recalling Hellas Meze Golden Smoked Whole Herring because the fish were not properly cleaned inside (eviscerated). Uneviscerated fish can harbor Clostridium botulinum spores, which cause botulism, a serious foodborne illness. No illnesses have been reported so far.
- Do not eat the product if you have it.
- Return the herring to the store where you bought it for a full refund.
