Zoox Automated Driving System recalled for heavy smoke detection failure
What this means
Zoox's Automated Driving System (ADS) software may fail to detect heavy smoke, which can cause the vehicle to enter areas of low visibility—particularly near emergency scenes. This increases crash risk and could interfere with first responders.
- If you operate a Zoox ADS vehicle, contact Zoox for a free software update (recall number 26-01).
- Do not operate the vehicle in areas with active smoke or low visibility until the update is installed.
