Chrysler Mopar seat belts recalled for retraction failure risk

Certain Chrysler Mopar rear outboard seat belt assemblies may twist and fail to retract properly. A seat belt that doesn't retract as designed may not restrain an occupant effectively in a crash, increasing injury risk.

  • Check if your vehicle uses one of the affected Mopar part numbers: 7SU27DX9AA, 7SU10DX9AA, 7SV41DX9AA, 7SV42DX9AA, 7ZK68DX9AA, 7ZK69DX9AA, 8AR89DX9AA, or 8BM60DX9AA.
  • Watch for notification letters from Chrysler starting September 24, 2026.
  • Contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403 or reference recall number 88D to confirm if your vehicle is affected.
  • Bring your vehicle to a Chrysler dealer for free replacement or refund of the retractor.
Hazard

A seat belt that does not retract properly may fail to restrain an occupant as intended, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy
Dealers will replace or refund the retractors, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed beginning September 24, 2026. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 88D.
