Peterbilt and Kenworth trucks recalled for seat ventilation harness short circuit fire risk
What this means
Certain 2027 Peterbilt 567, 579, and 589 trucks and Kenworth T680, T880, and W990 trucks may have a seat ventilation harness missing heat-shrink insulation. This can cause an electrical short circuit that increases the risk of fire.
- Check your vehicle identification number (VIN) against the recall list at NHTSA.gov or contact your dealer.
- Contact Peterbilt customer service at 1-940-591-4220 or Kenworth at 1-425-828-5888 to schedule a free harness replacement.
- Look for your owner notification letter, expected to arrive October 20, 2026.
