Forest River travel trailers recalled for exterior griddle fire hazard
What this means
Certain 2027 Salem and Wildwood travel trailers have an exterior griddle that can be stowed while still connected to the LP gas line. If stowed while gas is running, this creates a fire hazard.
- Check your mail for a notification letter from Forest River (sent September 15, 2026).
- Contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-534-3167 to schedule a free dealer installation of a safety clamp.
- Do not stow the griddle while the gas is in use until the clamp is installed.
The agency's original wording
A griddle stowed while the gas is still in use can increase the risk of a fire.
Dealers will install a clamp on the griddle to ensure it cannot be stowed with gas connected, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 15, 2026. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-534-3167. Forest River's number for this recall is 06-2095.
