Ford 2026 Ranger recalled for rearview camera display failure
What this means
Certain 2026 Ford Ranger vehicles with a 10.1-inch center screen may lose power, preventing the rearview camera image from displaying. This reduces visibility behind the vehicle and increases crash risk.
- Check your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) at NHTSA.gov to see if your 2026 Ranger is affected.
- Watch for an interim notification letter from Ford, expected October 5, 2026.
- Contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 or reference recall 26C42 for updates.
The agency's original wording
A rearview camera image that does not display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy is currently under development. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed October 5, 2026. Additional letters will be sent when the remedy is available. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 26C42. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on September 25, 2026.
