Thomas Built SAF-T-LINER C2 school buses recalled for low beam headlight illumination defect
What this means
Certain 2027 Thomas Built SAF-T-LINER C2 and C2 Jouley school buses have a software error that may cause the low beam headlights to not illuminate properly. Insufficient headlight brightness can reduce driver visibility and increase crash risk.
- If you operate one of these buses, contact Daimler Trucks North America at 1-800-547-0712.
- Dealers will inspect and replace the headlights at no charge once notification letters arrive (expected November 30, 2026).
- Reference recall number F1040 when contacting customer service.

Insufficient low beam headlight illumination can reduce driver visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Dealers will inspect and replace the headlights, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 30, 2026. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. DTNA's number for this recall is F1040.
