Freightliner and FCCC trucks recalled for fuel filter hose disconnection and fire risk
What this means
Certain 2022–2027 Freightliner Business Class M2 and FCCC trucks equipped with Cummins L9 diesel engines may have fuel filter hoses that separate from their fittings. This can cause a fuel leak, which poses a fire risk if ignited, and may also cause the engine to stall, increasing crash risk.
- Check if your truck is affected by calling Daimler Trucks customer service at 1-800-547-0712 or Cummins at 1-800-286-6467 (reference recall F1042).
- Do not operate the vehicle if you notice fuel leaks or smell fuel.
- Cummins will replace the fuel hoses free of charge; owner notification letters will be mailed starting November 20, 2026.
The agency's original wording
