Freightliner Business Class M2 recalled for fire risk from insulation contacting hot exhaust
What this means
Certain 2025–2027 Freightliner Business Class M2 trucks have underbody insulation that may contact hot exhaust components, creating a fire risk. Daimler Trucks North America is working on a fix. No injuries have been reported.
- Contact Daimler Trucks North America customer service at 1-800-547-0712 (recall F1041) if you own an affected truck.
- Watch for an owner notification letter expected to arrive by November 30, 2026.
- Do not use the truck until the remedy is available if you have concerns about the insulation.

Insulation that comes into contact with hot exhaust components increases the risk of a fire.
Remedy
The remedy is currently under development. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 30, 2026. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. DTNA's number for this recall is F1041.
