Eddy Packing smoked sausage recalled for hard plastic contamination

Do not eat Eddy Packing smoked sausage

Eddy Packing Co. recalled approximately 49,558 pounds of smoked sausage products (sold under Eddy, Dickey's, Lowe's, and Carl's brands) because they may contain hard plastic pieces. The problem was discovered when a restaurant found white plastic embedded in the sausage. No injuries have been reported.

  • Do not eat these products if you have them at home
  • Check your freezer for affected packages with sell-by dates between April 6, 2018 and April 6, 2019 and lot codes 8095 or 8096
  • Throw away affected sausage or return it to where you bought it
  • Call the USDA meat and poultry hotline at 1-888-674-6854 with questions
