Stop using recalled da Vinci scissors instruments
Intuitive Surgical is recalling specific batches of da Vinci S and Si Monopolar Curved Scissors (model 420179) used in robotic surgery systems. The grip cables inside these instruments can break or fray during use, which could affect the surgeon's ability to control the instrument during a procedure.
- Check your instrument against the recalled lot codes and batch numbers listed in the full FDA notice
- Stop using affected instruments immediately
- Contact Intuitive Surgical or your hospital's surgical supply department for replacement or repair
- Verify any pending surgeries do not use recalled instruments
