Philips Ingenia Elition MRI systems recalled for software issue causing scan termination
What this means
A software problem in certain Philips MRI systems can cause an examination to stop unexpectedly during image reconstruction if scan settings are manually adjusted in a way that exceeds the system's available memory. This interruption may require the scan to be repeated, delaying diagnosis and treatment.
- Contact Philips if your facility operates an affected Ingenia Elition S or X model to confirm your serial number and obtain a software update.
- Review scan parameter settings to avoid exceeding system memory capacity during image reconstruction.
- Report any scan terminations or related issues to Philips and the FDA.
The agency's original wording
Hazard
