What to do

  1. Do not eat Sam's Pecorino Romano grated cheese if you have any of the recalled lot numbers: 1000570107, 1000570766, or 1000572513
  2. Throw away the product or return it to the store where you bought it
  3. Wash your hands and any surfaces or utensils that may have contacted the cheese
  4. Contact your doctor if you develop fever, muscle aches, or gastrointestinal symptoms

Ambriola is recalling eight grated Pecorino Romano cheese products in plastic cups and bags because testing found Listeria monocytogenes. The products are sold under the Locatelli, Boar's Head, Pinna, Sam's and Ambriola names, in sizes from 4 ounces to 10 pounds. They were distributed in 20 states, including California, Florida, New York and Texas.
