Kroger, Brookshire's, and Country Morning eggs recalled for Salmonella risk
What this means
Multiple brands of Grade A eggs distributed across the South may contain Salmonella Enteritidis. The affected eggs were packed in Texas and distributed under Kroger, Brookshire's farm fresh, Country Morning, Super 1 Foods, and Cal-Maine Sunups labels. Affected cartons have pack code P-1950 or 0840962 with a Julian date between 157 and 184 (July 20 – August 17, 2026 best-by dates).
- Check your eggs for the pack code and date on the carton. If code P-1950 or 0840962 is present with a Julian date between 157 and 184, do not eat them.
- Cook eggs thoroughly until both the yolk and white are firm (160°F internal temperature) to kill Salmonella.
- Discard recalled eggs or return them to the store where you bought them.
- Wash hands, utensils, and surfaces that touched raw eggs.
