Prime Food Processing dried herring recalled for botulism risk

Prime Food Processing LLC is recalling 69 cases of dried herring fish (7 oz bags, lot code 26020) because the product was not properly cleaned inside. Uneviscerated fish can harbor Clostridium botulinum spores, which cause botulism, a serious foodborne illness. The product was distributed to Asian grocery stores across 17 states. No illnesses have been reported so far.

  • If you bought this dried herring fish, do not eat it.
  • Return the product and packaging to where you bought it for a full refund.
  • If you ate this product and develop dizziness, blurred vision, difficulty speaking or swallowing, weakness, or trouble breathing, seek immediate medical attention and mention botulism risk.
