Daimler Trucks Grote Headlamps recalled for insufficient low beam illumination
What this means
Certain aftermarket Grote Headlamps used in Daimler Trucks may have a software error that causes the low beam headlights to illuminate improperly. Reduced headlight brightness can decrease driver visibility and increase crash risk.
- Check if your truck has a Grote Headlamp with part number A66-41940-000, A66-41940-001, A66-41940-002, or A66-41940-003.
- Watch for a notification letter from Daimler Trucks (expected starting October 2, 2026).
- Contact Daimler Trucks customer service at 1-800-547-0712 with questions. Reference recall number F1036.

Insufficient low beam headlight illumination can reduce driver visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy is currently under development. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed beginning October 2, 2026. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. DTNA's number for this recall is F1036.
