Blue Bird school buses recalled for loose or missing high voltage battery mounting bolts
What this means
Certain 2018–2024 and 2026 Blue Bird Vision and All American Electric school buses may have loose or missing bolts on the high voltage battery system. If these bolts are not secure, the battery can shift or disconnect, causing the bus to lose drive power and increasing the risk of a crash.
- Check your owner notification letter, expected to arrive December 1, 2026.
- Contact Blue Bird customer service at 1-478-822-2242 to schedule a free inspection and repair.
- Do not operate the bus until the bolts have been inspected and secured by an authorized dealer.

A high voltage battery with loose or missing mounting bolts can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.
Dealers will inspect and reinstall bolts with thread locker. Damaged or missing bolts will be replaced. All repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed December 1, 2026. Owners may contact Blue Bird customer service at 1-478-822-2242. Blue Bird's number for this recall is R26AK.
