Blue Bird All American Electric transit buses recalled for loose or missing high voltage battery mounting bolts
What this means
Certain 2022–2024 Blue Bird All American Electric transit buses have high voltage battery mounting bolts that may be loose or missing. This can cause a loss of drive power and increase the risk of a crash.
- If you operate one of these buses, contact Blue Bird customer service at 1-478-822-2242 or reference recall R26AK.
- Dealers will inspect the battery system, reinstall or replace bolts at no cost, and apply thread locker to prevent future loosening.
- Owner notification letters are expected to arrive by December 1, 2026.

A high voltage battery with loose or missing mounting bolts can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.
Dealers will inspect and reinstall bolts with thread locker. Damaged or missing bolts will be replaced. All repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed December 1, 2026. Owners may contact Blue Bird customer service at 1-478-822-2242. Blue Bird's number for this recall is R26AK.
