Motor Coach Industries buses recalled for hazard light indicator not displaying on dashboard
What this means
Certain 2018–2026 Motor Coach Industries buses have a dashboard indicator light that may not illuminate when hazard warning lights are on. This can cause drivers to forget to turn off exterior lights when they're no longer needed, which may confuse other drivers and increase crash risk.
- Check your notification mail (expected November 24, 2026) for recall details and instructions.
- Contact Motor Coach Industries customer service at 1-800-241-2947 for questions or to schedule a free software update.
The agency's original wording
Without the illuminated reminder, the driver may fail to turn off the exterior lights when no longer needed. Hazard warning lights that remain activated unintentionally can confuse other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.
MCI will update the software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 24, 2026. Owners may contact MCI customer service at 1-800-241-2947.
