Kalmar Solutions Ottawa terminal tractors recalled for PCB short circuit fire risk
What this means
Certain 2014–2026 Kalmar Ottawa T2 terminal tractors have a printed circuit board that may develop insulation damage, causing a short circuit. This short circuit can start a fire even when the vehicle is parked with the engine off.
- Park your Kalmar Ottawa T2 tractor outside and away from buildings until it is repaired.
- Contact Kalmar customer service at 1-888-229-6300 (option 4, then option 2) to schedule a repair.
- Kalmar will rewire the cabin power system and install a protective fuse at no charge.
- Watch for an owner notification letter in the mail by December 4, 2026.
The agency's original wording
A short circuit increases the risk of a fire even when the vehicle is parked and the ignition is in the 'Off' position.
Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until their vehicle is repaired. Kalmar will rewire the cabin power and add a 5A fuse to the PCB circuit, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed by December 4, 2026. Owners may contact Kalmar customer service at 1-888-229-6300, select option 4, then option 2.
