Spartan Fire 2024 Metrostar emergency vehicle recalled for exterior light failure risk
What this means
A component in the 2024 Metrostar emergency vehicle may fail, causing exterior lights and emergency pump functions to stop working. When exterior lights don't work, other drivers can't see the vehicle clearly, raising the risk of a crash. Loss of pump function could also delay use of emergency equipment.
- Contact Spartan customer service at 1-517-543-6400 if you own this vehicle.
- Watch for the owner notification letter (mailing expected November 1, 2026).
- Spartan will replace the faulty component free of charge under recall #26017.
The agency's original wording
A loss of exterior lights can reduce the visibility of the vehicle to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash. A loss of pump-mode function may prevent or delay the use of emergency equipment, increasing the risk of injury.
Spartan Fire will work with Fire Research Corporation to replace the I/O Nodes, free of charge. The owner notification letter is expected to be mailed November 1, 2026. Owners may contact Spartan customer service at 1-517-543-6400. Spartan's number for this recall is 26017.
