Cummins trailer-mounted generators recalled for shock and burn risk
Cummins is recalling certain trailer-mounted generator sets because the bolted connections that attach the leads to the voltage selector switch may have been improperly tightened, allowing the fasteners to loosen. A loose connection can lead to a short circuit or increased heat, increasing the risk of electrical shock or burn injury. The recall covers 479 units.

What to do
- Stop running the generator set until a dealer has inspected it.
- Check whether your unit is a Cummins Power Generation trailer-mounted model C275D2RE, C200D2RE, C150D2RE, or C100D2RE.
- Contact Cummins customer service at 1-800-286-6467 and reference recall number 5849.
- Take the generator to a dealer, who will inspect and properly tighten the fasteners, as necessary, free of charge.
- Watch for an owner notification letter, which is expected to be mailed November 25, 2026.
