GE Centricity Universal Viewer software recalled for credential exposure vulnerability
Update GE Centricity Universal Viewer software
GE Medical Systems' Centricity Universal Viewer software versions 5.0 SP6 through 5.0 SP7.1 has a cybersecurity weakness that may expose user login credentials on affected workstations. An unauthorized person could potentially use these exposed credentials to access the system, disrupt service, or alter medical images and data.
- If your healthcare facility uses Centricity Universal Viewer, contact GE Medical Systems for a patched software version
- Update to a version newer than UV 5.0 SP7.1 when available
- Review access logs for any unauthorized system activity
- Change login credentials as a precaution
There is a potential cybersecurity vulnerability affecting certain versions of Centricity Universal Viewer. User login credentials may be exposed on the local client workstation, which could allow an unauthorized individual to potentially impact system availability and/or manipulate data.
