Whole Foods prepared foods recalled for Salmonella risk
Whole Foods Market is recalling select salsas, guacamole, pico de gallo, and prepared foods from its Produce and Prepared Foods departments because they contain jalapeños that may be contaminated with Salmonella. The jalapeños came from Coast Citrus Distributors, which is linked to a multistate outbreak that the FDA and CDC are investigating. No illnesses have been reported so far.
- Check the Best Before/By dates on the product list (8/7/2026 – 8/16/2026).
- Do not eat recalled products if you purchased them in TX, OK, LA, AR, WI, MI, IL, IN, IA, MO, KY, or OH.
- Throw away the product or return it to Whole Foods.
- Contact Whole Foods or the FDA if you have questions about whether your product is affected.
