Nova Bus LFS buses recalled for defective coolant sensor causing engine shutdown

What this means

A coolant sensor in certain 2023–2024 Nova Bus LFS Artic and 2022–2024 LFS buses can send a false signal, causing the engine to shut down without warning. An unexpected shutdown increases crash risk and can create unsafe conditions when passengers need to be transferred from a disabled bus.

  • If you own or operate one of these buses, contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-800-350-6682 or reference recall number CR5936.
  • Owner notification letters will be mailed November 2, 2026.
  • Nova Bus will inspect and replace the coolant sensor at no cost.
  • If your bus was repaired under the previous recall (24V873), the new repair will still be needed.
