Philips Azurion 3 M12 systems recalled over unapproved drives
What this means
Philips is recalling Azurion 3 M12 systems (model numbers 722063 and 722221) because solid-state drives not specified in the device file may have been installed in some of the PCs. These drives may be less reliable over time, which could cause loss of imaging, a blank or black display, or trouble storing or viewing images. No injuries have been reported.
- Check whether your system's model number is 722063 or 722221, and if so, contact Philips or your facility's biomedical engineering team.
- Do not make changes to the system's drives unless Philips or your service provider instructs you to.
The agency's original wording
Solid-State Drives (SSDs) that are not specified in the Medical Device File may have been installed in various PCs. These SSDs may have different performance characteristics, which may include reduced reliability over time such as loss of imaging functionality or motorized movement, a blank or black display, and/or the inability to store newly acquired images or access previously acquired images.
