Avanos MIC Safety PEG Kit recalled for defective lidocaine

Avanos Medical included lidocaine hydrochloride injections with quality issues in certain sterile PEG (feeding tube) kits. The lidocaine was subject to a supplier recall for manufacturing defects. About 1,615 kits with specific lot numbers were affected nationwide.

  • Check if you have an Avanos MIC Safety PEG Kit (Model 8170-20) with lot numbers 30371324, 30374833, 30384889, or 80403350.
  • Do not use the lidocaine injection included in the kit.
  • Contact your healthcare provider or Avanos Medical for replacement or instructions.
