2026 Range Rover Sport recalled for powertrain control module defect causing loss of drive power
What this means
A small number of 2026 Range Rover Sport vehicles have a misaligned circuit board in the powertrain control module that may become deformed. This defect can cause a sudden loss of engine power while driving, increasing crash risk.
- Check your vehicle identification number (VIN) against the recall notice when it arrives in the mail around November 20, 2026.
- Contact Land Rover customer service at 800-637-6837 or provide recall number D164 when you schedule a service appointment.
- A dealer will replace the powertrain control module at no cost once the remedy is ready.
The agency's original wording
A deformed circuit board may cause a loss of drive power, increases the risk of a crash.
A dealer will replace the PCM, free of charge. An interim letter notifying the owner of the safety risk is expected to be mailed November 20, 2026. An additional letter will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact Land Rover's customer service at 800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is D164.
