2024 Land Rover Defender second-row seat belt recalled for improper stitching

Certain 2024 Land Rover Defender vehicles have a second-row seat belt that may be improperly stitched. If the seat belt fails during a crash, it may not properly restrain an occupant, increasing injury risk.
- Check your vehicle identification number (VIN) against the affected list at NHTSA.gov or contact Land Rover at 800-637-6837.
- Dealers will inspect and replace the seat belt free of charge once the remedy is ready.
- Expect an initial notification letter by November 20, 2026, with instructions for the repair.
The agency's original wording
An improperly stitched seat belt may fail to properly restrain an occupant during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Dealers will inspect the second-row seat belt serial number, and replace the seat belt, as necessary, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed November 20, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact Land Rover's customer service at 800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is D130.
