Consumer product recalls

The handheld hair dryers lack an immersion protection device, posing an electrocution or shock hazard to consumers, if the hair dryers fall into water when plugged in. The CPSC has determined that hair dryers not equipped with the integral immersion protection present a substantial product hazard.

The recalled digital kitchen scales violate the mandatory federal regulations for consumer products containing button cell or coin batteries, because the scale has a lithium coin battery that can be easily accessed by children, and a spare coin battery provided with the product not in child resistant packaging, as required by Reese's Law. These violations pose an ingestion hazard. The recalled scales also do not have the required warnings. When button cell or coin batteries are swallowed, the ingested batteries can cause serious injuries, internal chemical burns, and death.

The plastic lid's closure can degrade after repeated openings, causing the lid's child-resistance to diminish, posing a risk of poisoning, if the contents are swallowed by young children.

The training cycles' adjustable seat can unexpectedly lower while in use, posing a fall hazard to the rider.

A loss of drive power can increase the risk of a crash. A loss of park function can cause an unintended vehicle rollaway, which can increase the risk of a crash or injury.

The bolts that connect the back of the chair to its base can fail, posing a fall hazard to users.

The recalled dressers are unstable if they are not anchored to the wall, posing serious tip-over and entrapment hazards that can result in injuries or death to children. The dressers do not comply with the performance requirements of the STURDY Act.

The power cord can partially detach from the heater enclosure, which can lead to cord damage over time, posing electric shock and fire hazards.

The recalled jewelry sets contain levels of lead that exceed the federal lead content ban and levels of cadmium that are prohibited in children's products by the Federal Hazardous Substances Act. Lead and cadmium are toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects.

The essential oil contains methyl salicylate, which must be in child-resistant packaging, as required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act (PPPA). The packaging for the products is not child-resistant, posing a risk of poisoning if the contents are swallowed by young children.

The space between the rotating platform and the stationary outer rim can leave a gap that narrows too much, posing a crushing hazard to children.
